Help missionaries and those who support them prepare for the unexpected.
Preparing a missionary for service abroad costs more than $10,000 on average. Yet only a small portion of that investment may be allocated to personal security training.
Fort Sherman Ministries (FSM) recognizes the importance of helping missionaries prepare for the safety and security challenges they may face. Through generous contributions, FSM provides full or partial scholarships for individuals receiving personal security training through our sister training company, Fort Sherman Academy.
Personal security training for missionaries
Financial limitations can make it difficult for missionaries to include personal security training in their preparation. FSM helps close that gap. Depending on a student’s need and available scholarship funds, a scholarship may cover all or part of the training fees.
Fort Sherman Ministries provides scholarship support. Fort Sherman Academy delivers the training, drawing on its experience training more than 81,000 missionaries in personal and mission safety and security.
Crisis response preparation for churches and sending organizations
Supporting missionaries also means preparing the people who will respond when a member faces a crisis.
FSM helps smaller sending organizations and churches access training for their leadership and crisis managers. This training helps prepare them to respond when a missionary or another member of their organization is in crisis.
FSM has also provided scholarships for crisis management assistance programs, helping small organizations access support that might otherwise be beyond their financial reach.
